Stephanie attended the Whatcom Community College Massage Therapy program from Sept. 2003-Sept. 2004. Shortly after, she opened Chappaz Massage inside Gold's Gym, successfully reaching her goal of being an independant business owner. Her interest in the health and wellness field sparked her love for massage. Providing quality therapeutic massage to all who need it is her passion and she takes pride in developing an atmosphere of compassion, comfort and trust for her clients.

I grew up in the greater Seattle area. I have always been active. I figure skated throughout my youth and currently enjoy hiking, biking and running. I was fortunate to work in Seattle at Gene Juarez as a spa hostess. This is where my interest in health and beauty began. Shortly after, I attended Ashmead College massage school from 1998-2000 and became a licensed massage therapist.

I worked in a spa in Kirkland until finding my way to Bellingham. I continued to massage in Semiahmoo until my children were born. I have taken breaks from massage to raise my two boys but always seem to find my way back to it.
Services
Therapeutic Massage is a combination of Swedish, deep tissue and injury treatment massage, among others, that utilizes modalities and treatments practiced in all of these types of body work.
Each massage is tailored to the clients individual needs and requirements taking into consideration injuries, surgeries, limitations, extracurricular activities and activities of daily living.
A mechanical massager may also be used with the clients permission to aid in the release of challenging tissue.
Traditional Swedish Massage uses five main strokes, and many variations, to achieve its relaxing and healing effects.
A: Many studies have shown that massage reduces levels of the stress hormone cortisol while boosting the feel-good hormones serotonin and dopamine, which may also mean less stress, anxiety and depression.
Researchers at the Group Health Center for Health Studies in Seattle found that massage works better for lower back pain than common treatments like chiropractic therapy and acupuncture; Even though a client may choose to use more than one therapy.
Dr. Tiffany Field, PhD, director of the Touch Research Institute at the University Of Miami School Of Medicine, says "Massage also seems to ease distress from migraine, labor pain and even cancer."
If you're looking for knowledgeable, perfect body work, then you'll want to check this place out!

Highly recommended! - Cody W.
Have been a client of Chappaz and Stephanie for a number of years.
Have always received the very best in massage service and with a personal approach.
Knowing how serious Stephanie takes her business, I would absolutely trust any of the other staff as well.
After a car accident, massage therapy was recommended by my doctor to help with back and shoulder pain.
