Heart N' Hands Massage Of Sedona
Having lived in Sedona for many years, I've had an ongoing opportunity to be surrounded by beauty and nature. Sedona feeds the soul and helps us to remember what it feels like to have our senses awakened. Massage is such a wonderful way to transform our bodies and our minds. I deliver nurturing touch and help each client find a more relaxed way of walking in the world.

My mission is to encourage each person to find a calmer state of inhabiting their own body and their place on the planet. Let the beauty of Sedona enrich your spirit, while allowing the healing touch of my hands on your body bring you back to your highest self. Whether you are looking for a relaxing massage or freedom from pain or wanting to connect with your own essence, allow me to assist you.

I am a state licensed massage therapist and have been doing and loving massage since 1999. My initial certification was obtained at The Arizona Institute of Integrative Studies. I enjoy assisting people on their journey of greater physical and emotional freedom and feel very blessed to do this work.
Services
The therapeutic massage that I do is designed to create a sensation of ahhhsomeness.
The goal is to bring pain relief, increase circulation, decrease cortisol levels (cortisol is a stress hormone), boost the immune system and promote an overall sense of well being.
I am able to accomplish this by utililzing the many modalities that I have been trained in.
When it is appropriate I may do a bit of stretching (Thai-yoga massage) or a little bit of Lomi Lomi (long smooth forearm strokes).
I incorporate stretching (warming) the fascia of restricted areas, often times the neck and shoulder area.
Deep tissue massage uses slow, firm pressure, delving deeply into the muscle fibers and spindles to remove adhesions and lessen pain.
Working with the facia and connective tissue, we can "teach " contracted muscles to release, thus enabling more blood flow to the area and increased range of motion.
Many people experience headaches, tension in neck and/or shoulders, or lower back pain.
These maladies can be greatly helped using deep tissue massage.
Once I have loosened up the area with some gentler strokes, bringing increased circulation to the different problem areas, then I can very slowly start breaking up the adhesions and differentiate between individual muscle groups.
Hot stone massage is a very powerful and therapeutic session.
I use warm, basalt stones which have been worn smooth from rivers or the ocean and place them on your body.
The heat penetrates deeply into the muscle fibers and allows for tense and contracted muscles to "melt" the surrounding tissue.
With a hot stone massage session I am able to go deeper with less pressure since the stones have already warmed up the area.
Combining the use of the stones with traditional massage is a great way to break up adhesions in the facia and delineate the different muscles that can become "glued" together.
Essential oils are used in aromatherapy massage.
Essential oils are the aromatic essence of the plant.
The use of these concentrated essences to achieve a specific state of being in the physical, emotional or spiritual body in known as aromatherapy.
By combining massage with essential oils the result is a session which feels invigorating and relaxing all at the same time, resulting often times in a true state of bliss.
I use only the finest grade of oils; they are medicinal grade and as such are much more potent and therapeutic.
The Lomi Lomi Massage is a journey of breath, sound, release and transformation.
It is participatory in nature and is as much a journey as it is a massage.
Using this age old Hawaiian form of body and breath work I assist in the weaving of breath and intention, to unravel old wounds and outdated belief systems.
Most of this session is done using forearms rather than the more traditional Swedish style of massage.
Using the forearms instead of hands, we are replicating the motion of the ocean waves.
