We are a massage therapy + wellness studio located on the 100 block of S. Gay St. in Downtown Knoxville, Tennessee. Our name, Meadowsweet, comes from Filipendula ulmaria a perennial herb in the family Rosaceae that grows in damp meadows, known for its healing properties. White-flowered meadowsweet has been used for centuries in ceremonies that represent growth and change, such as births, funerals, festivals and weddings, and often was made into bridal garlands.

We tailor each massage to your body's needs, and blend modalities to help you best. Before each session, we will sit down with you and discuss your health history, your aches and pains, and set up a plan to help alleviate any discomfort you may be experiencing. Afterwards, we may give you tips on how to maintain a healthy body, and remind you to drink plenty of water to flush out toxins and lactic acid released during your massage.

Check out our Shop for the modalities and prices we offer, or to purchase a Gift Certificate.

Part of our team has been training in Maori Romi Romi with Ana Goncalves from Knoxville, and directly with Atarangi Muru, Maori Healer and Master Teacher from New Zealand.
Some of us have travelled to New Zealand to continue to learn and practice by attending the "Te Rongopae" 2018 bodywork training, and had the opportunity to study and train at our amazing teacher's Atarangi Muru's clinic.
As per Atarangi' s request, we are now offering the Romi Romi protocol that she has taught us.
Clients stay fully dressed on the massage table (in loose comfortable clothing).
Our hot towels are infused with organic essential oils and then placed on areas of your body, based on your aches and pain.
When combined with massage, moist hot towels will produce general relaxation, melt the fascia, help to reduce muscle spasms and pain.
The heat from the towels will loosen and relax the muscles and soothe the aches.
It's a lovely addition to your massage.
This treatment is a great way to get a mineral boost while gently exfoliating the skin and relaxing your feet, and mind.
We start by soaking your feet in a warm herbal and mineral rich ionized foot bath to replenish your magnesium levels.
While enjoying your soak and a warm essential oil infused neck pillow, you will sip on a specially crafted organic zen herbal infusion.
Once you are done, you can enjoy your 60 or 90 min Relaxation Massage, during which we will incorporate an essential oil infused hot towel treatment.
