West Hartford Massage Therapy
WHMT is dedicated to supporting people in their intentions to take better care of themselves. I have been a guide on the path to wellness for over 30 years and am intrigued with conscious healing. I do not "fix" people nor do I do "fluff" bodywork. I use my hands to assist clients in letting go of tension, relieving pain and finding ease and awareness in their bodies.

My work helps develop an overall mindfulness of the body /mind connection as well. I teach movement re-education and simple stress release techniques that enhance the release of habitual, detrimental muscle patterns which cause physiologic issues. I approach each session with openness, wisdom and curiosity. I benefit from my work as much as you do, as it really is a journey of partnership and trust.
Services
My expertise includes over five decades of study of the human body, both as a dancer/teacher and as a body therapist.
I have trained with renowned movement artists and accomplished body-centered practitioners/educators associated with the most respected institutions in the country.
Integrating all that I have learned, I have created my own style, philosophy and approach to healing.
I feel honored to work with my clients, and value your trust in me, both as a health professional and as a compassionate human being.
My coaching work is bi-directional.
We are a team.
It is as if each individual hands me a specific and personal license.
It is my job to honor that license to the best of my ability by being creative, wise and thoughtful in order to help relieve tension, anxiety, pain and discomfort.
Other benefits include expanding your movement vocabulary and assisting you in finding your highest potential.
I do ask my clients to be active in their awareness, to practice self-observation and to be committed to their health.
Tension is the foundation for many physical and emotional problems that can go unidentified and untreated.
Tension manifests itself in countless ways, from muscular restriction and pain to anxiety, depression, sleep issues, constant headaches and agitated digestion.
Our stress hormones get used to being "on" all the time and we get used to not feeling well.
Often we simply adapt to new body and emotional armor and forget what it can feel like to be relaxed and "at home" in our physical/emotional/spiritual selves.
We all need a break from everything sometimes.
It is essential to take care of YOU so you can take care of those you love.
Stress Release Coaching will give you tools for dealing with the challenges that we all encounter in these uncertain times.
