I am happy to be in my 27th year of practicing the art and science of Therapeutic Massage. My goal is to help each client meet their personal goals for health and wellness in a safe and peaceful environment. I believe that massage therapy is much more than an occasional treat or a quick fix when you become overwhelmed with stress (although there are many times when you do need both of these.)

Massage can play a key role in building a healthier, more well balanced lifestyle with a long list of proven mental and physical benefits. I look forward to working with you!
Services
I am a certified, licensed Massage Therapist.
I have been practicing Therapeutic Massage in Chicago since 1993.
I received my original training at The Chicago School of Massage Therapy.
I have advanced certifications in Prenatal and Post partum Massage, Myofascial Massage, Orthopedic Massage, Deep Tissue, Bouncing Back from Baby, Reflexology, Infant Massage Instruction and Hakomi (mind /body integration) Skills for Bodyworkers.
Lydia is also a Yoga and Meditation Instructor.
Through treatment you may experience deep relaxation and calm, relief from chronic pain, support in addressing other health challenges, improved performance, increased body and emotional awareness and greater balance in your body and mind.
Deep Tissue Massage is a form of bodywork that aims to relieve tension in the deeper layers of tissue in the body.
Deep Tissue Massage is a highly effective method for releasing chronic stress areas due to misalignment, repetitive motions, and past lingering injuries.
Due to the nature of the deep tissue work, open communication during the session is crucial to make sure you don't get too uncomfortable.
Keep in mind that soreness is pretty common after the treatment, and that plenty of water should be ingested to aid with the flushing and removal of toxins that will have been released from the deep tissue during the session.
I have a deep commitment to serving women and their families in the Childbearing year and beyond.
During Pregnancy and labor a woman's body goes through huge changes physically in a very short time.
While this is often a joyful period in a woman's life it can also be accompanied by unique emotional stressors as she adapts to her changing body and prepares for parenthood or an expanding family.
I have advanced certification in Prenatal and Postpartum massage and Bouncing Back From Baby.
I am also a Certified Infant massage Instructor, Postpartum Doula and Yoga instructor.
