Due to declining membership and a lack of volunteers to run the organization, the Executive Committee voted to close the organization. OMTA, partnering with Lane Community College, has formed the Lane County Massage & Bodyworkers Organization. On the first Monday of every month we offer an ongoing series of continuing education subjects at the downtown campus in Eugene.

Attendance is free, but there is a $5 fee for OMTA members to receive a Continuing Education Certificate. Non-members pay $10. The OBMT requires LMTs to complete four contact hours of Ethics and one hour of Cultural Competency each two-year renewal period. OMTA's former president, Robert Bike teaches Ethics and Cultural Competency at Lane Community College.

See his website for details. The Past Presidents Council is now running OMTA. Robert Bike is temporarily in charge of all OMTA functions, as the past president willing to serve. Any ideas about how OMTA can help LMT's.
We are continuing to look for those who will step up to the challenge and help lead the organization be the best it can be.
Oregon Massage Therapists Association is looking for information, feedback and volunteers.
Our burning question is : why do or don't LMTs choose to join a professional organization?
As this organization moves forward into planing for the upcoming year, we want to know what LMTs in OR want more of and how we as a group can come together to bring more value to our community.
Join us in Newport OR for a day of Continuing Education with Jeffery Burch, "Understanding Joint Instability."
Come early and network with fellow Therapists, make new friends and reconnect with those you've lost touch with.
