I offer lymphatic drainage massage to anyone who desires to experience the many health and wellness benefits that go along with stimulating your lymphatic system, as well as treating health conditions/concerns like lymphedema, lipedema, chronic venous insufficiency and edema from cosmetic, orthopedic and cancer related surgeries. This drainage massage is much different than your normal massage.

I use a circular skin stretching technique that opens the superficial lymphatics, which are skin deep, and I apply slightly deeper touch focused over lymph nodes to stimulate the lymphatic system. The 3 main roles of the lymphatic system are fluid regulation/balance, waste transportation and immunity.

A lymphatic drainage massage is such a powerful tool for eliminating swelling; detoxing and ridding our bodies of the crud, crap and debris that we ingest, that we accumulate through cellular process (Yes, our cells poop too!) and that get into our systems through our environment. Not to mention our lymphatic system is a huge part of our immune system, and who wouldn't want a stellar immune system to protect us from pathogens, viruses, bacteria and cancer cells!

I highly recommend Abby for lymphatic massage treatments.
Your lymphatic system is the ONLY system in your body that collects and transports the waste from your cells and cellular processes.
I like to say, just like we poop our cells poop and dump that waste between all of our cells.
It is your lymphatic systems JOB to uptake that waste and bring it to your lymph nodes for filtering and processing.
If we didn't have a functioning lymphatic system, we would auto-pollute ourselves to the point of death within 48 hours.
So you can see the grave importance our lymphatic system can have on our health and the health of our tissues.
Manual lymphatic drainage (MLD) therapy/massage is a technique developed to stimulate the pumping of the lymphatic system, therefore directing the lymph fluid under the skin back to the lymphatic vessels.
In turn, this is a powerful tool to reduce edema/swelling caused from surgical trauma.
Edema reduction: MLD reroutes fluid to alternative uncompromised pathways untouched by surgery to allow for accelerated drainage.
As opposed to the slow trickle of fluids in the operative site.
Therefore reducing the time it will take to enjoy your new cosmetic results!
Lymphedema is a chronic disease that often goes unrecognized.
If left untreated, it tends to prgoress and can lead to skin changes, wounds, frequent infections and reduced mobility.
This is a chronic inflammaotry condition which results from excess water and protiens in the tissues due to lymphatic system dysfunction/deficit.
This disease can be something that you are born with, primary lymphedema.
Or secondary lymphedema is a result of injury to the lymphatic system.
This may include lymph node removal, surgeries (often after breast cancer), trauma, radiation, obesity, and chronic venous insufficiency to name a few.
