I was born and raised in Scotland and moved to the United States in 1991 after graduating from the University of Edinburgh. I hold a master's degree in Communication Disorders from Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina and worked for 18 years as a pediatric Speech-Language Pathologist.
After experiencing the restorative powers of massage therapy as a client myself, I felt drawn to study more about the field and obtained my massage therapy certification from the Center for Massage and Natural Health in Asheville, NC in 2005.Since then, I have maintained a successful private practice in Asheville, North Carolina, treating hundreds of people throughout my career.
I make sure to attend many continuing education classes in various massage modalities to keep my skills sharp. My true teachers, however, are my clients. I have found that the best healing happens when I listen attentively, encourage direct feedback, and avoid bringing my own "agenda" to the massage table. I love learning how best to support each person's healing, and allow them to move towards relaxed, flexible, pain-free living.

This is so we can discuss any medical issues, as well as your specific needs that day.
You can choose between several aromatherapy massage oil / body butter blends or unscented oil.
When our intake session is complete, I step out of the room to wash my hands and give you privacy while you undress to your level of comfort.
I will keep you appropriately draped at all times with a sheet and warm blanket.
During the massage, I will often ask for your feedback to ensure that I am meeting your needs.
