Not all schools are created equally - compare us to other massage schools on the Gulf Coast and we think you'll see the difference too. Browse through the awards and honors on the faculty page that our school and school director have received. We have simplified the Admissions process so that you can print an application from our website and mail or fax it to us, or request a catalog by mail.

You can also transfer your hours from another massage school and receive a tuition credit. There are many massage schools on the Gulf Coast, but only ONE has a best-selling national textbook author on staff. Our Director, Susan Salvo, has written two massage textbooks that are used nationwide. Massage Therapy: Principles and Practice and Mosby's Pathology for Massage Therapists are used in massage schools from coast to coast.

Our spacious classroom is outfitted with state-of-the-art equipment, allowing us to integrate our curriculum to include the most up-to-date information with digital presentations.
Services
While pioneering the profession of massage therapy along the Gulf Coast, Susan Salvo was frequently sought out to teach her specialty -- massage-oriented anatomy and physiology.
The Louisiana Institute of Massage Therapy's curriculum was developed from workshops Salvo created and taught in the early 1980's, formally establishing the Institute in 1987.
Ms. Salvo and the Institute continue to win awards for excellence in the fields of massage therapy, education, and business.
To further support students in their quest for knowledge, Ms. Salvo used her curriculum as a guide to write the best-selling textbook, Massage Therapy: Principles and Practice.

My name is Melanie.
I was licensed within a few months of graduation.
I have wanted to be a massage therapist for years.
When I was finally able to go to massage school, I did many months of research before committing to a program.
When I began my research I kept coming across LIMT, and Susan Salvo.
It didn't take long for me to realize that I really had an easy decision.
I decided to get my education straight from the school that is owned by the author of the text book that a lot of other massage schools use as part of their curriculum.
Louisiana Institute of Massage offers a 510-hour program.
Our curriculum has been carefully crafted over the past 20+ years to provide a comprehensive, broad-based approach that is designed to be challenging, fun, and exciting.
Our teaching staff's dedication ensures quality delivery of this curriculum.

Students learn several styles of massage and bodywork used to serve the needs of a wide variety of clientele.
