Grounding Touch Therapeutic Massage
Swedish Massage increases circulation, stretches the ligaments and tendons, stimulates the skin and nervous system and reduces stress, both emotional and physical. It is suggested in a regular program for stress management. It aims to release the chronic patterns of tension in the body through slow strokes and deep finger pressure on the contracted areas, either following or going across the fibers of the muscles, tendons and fascia.

This massage chair is designed so you can sit in it with your chest facing a platform, knees bent and feet supported on foot rests, leaving your entire back exposed. This allows the me to work on the entire back body, back of the head, neck and spine. The person receiving the massage remains fully clothed, making chair massage very easy to do. Sports massage is also good for people with injuries, chronic pain or restricted range of motion.

Sports massage is a type of Swedish massage that stimulates circulation of blood and lymph fluids. Some sports massage movements use trigger point therapy to break down adhesions (knots in the muscles) and increase range of motion.

My interest in the field of massage began with the aches and pains I experienced while working in a construction trade.
Later when I saw the many benefits my wife received from massage, I became interested in bringing others these benefits.
I am a licensed Massage Therapist (you may verify my license here) with over 17 years of experience.
A graduate of the Virginia School of Massage.
My certification is with the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork.
I use several modalities, including swedish and deep tissue massage and myofascial release.
We will spend a few moments getting acquainted.
I will ask you a few questions about your health and your general sense of well-being.
Your answers will help me plan your massage.
Please ask me any questions and give me any special instructions you may have during this time.
You will have privacy to get ready for the massage.
When you are on the table and under the sheet, I will knock before entering the room to begin the massage.
Usually I start with larger strokes to help you get comfortable and then move to smaller, more specific areas of tension.
Take off only as much clothing as you are comfort- able removing.
If you don't want to remove your clothing, wear clothing that will allow me to touch and move the areas of your body you expect will need to be massaged.
Let me know if you would prefer I turn off the music, adjust room temperature, lighting etc.
Relax your muscles and your mind.
Tightening up by contracting or hardening your muscles during the massage is counterproductive.
Let me know this is happening.
I may need to adjust the massage technique I'm using and may also be able to help you relax the affected area.
New clients must provide credit card information when scheduling the appointment.
I accept Visa and MasterCard.
If you would like to pay by check or with cash, I will take payment at the time of service and shred your credit information.
Missed appointments and cancellations will be billed the full amount.
If you have not arrived 5 minutes after your scheduled appointment time, I will call you and request that you call me (304-267-0842).
If you have not contacted me within the next 10 minutes, I will not continue to wait for you, and will consider the appointment to be missed.
