Services
At Finger Lakes School of Massage, we really, really love what we do!
We believe in the power of bodywork because the skills we teach, work in the professions we're a part.
We also believe in our students and our graduates because they demonstrate authentic passion and that is contagious.
If you're interested in a career in massage therapy, then learn more about FLSM here!
FLSM opened its first campus, in Ithaca, in 1994.
Due to the success of that campus and continued projected growth in the field of massage therapy, we opened our second campus, in Mount Kisco, in 2008.
Our focus is on you-the student-as a whole.
At FLSM you will learn valuable business, life, and communication skills which set you apart from other massage therapists-skills that prepare you to achieve success both professionally and personally.
We offer support even after you graduate with our Alumni Program, which features job listings and other helpful tools; and through Continuing Education, to help keep you up to date with licensure requirements.
If you're making a commitment to your future, we're making a commitment to you.
We are firm believers in the value of continuing education and are delighted to support New York State licensed massage therapists and other licensed healthcare practitioners with a variety of evening and weekend workshops.
FLSM is approved by New York State as well as the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork (NCBTMB) as a Category A Continuing Education Provider.
Unless indicated otherwise for lectures or specific workshops, all workshop participants must be licensed in New York State in one of the touch professions such as; Massage Therapy, Nursing, Chiropractic, Physical Therapy or Osteopathy.
Finger Lakes School of Massage has an "Early Application Deadline" for applicants in each cohort.
This deadline is set two weeks before the scholarship application deadline.
The intention of this deadline is to facilitate a more timely application process, to allow students adequate time to apply for the FLSM and/or TMO scholarships and to ensure Enrolled status is easily reached by the first day of school.
Those students applying to the cohort after the deadline are still eligible to begin that cohort.
Education is an investment, and like any investment, it requires some research.
Remember that if you have questions at any time during this process, we are only a phone call away.
Federal financial assistance is available to those who qualify in the forms of Direct Stafford Loans or Pell Grants for those who qualify.
Grants, such as the Federal Pell Grant, do not have to be paid back and are based on financial need.
Unlike grants, loans must be paid back.
Depending on the type of loan (subsidized or unsubsidized) you may or may not have a grace period on the interest.
