It's not just about pressure, or knowing where to find the muscles, or those little perks like convenient online scheduling and a chocolate at the end of each session. It's not even that she's got the most comfortable table in town. All of this, plus her sensibility, compassion, and calming energy, make Suzanna Young's healing touch something very special.

Most people look for an experienced professional who is skilled in the types of massage that they prefer. They want a therapist who listens and responds to their needs and also with whom they feel comfortable and safe. I have had massages that are fluffy and sometimes feel good on the table, but I leave with all the same aches I came in with. And I have had massages where I feel I have gone ten rounds with Mike Tyson.

I aim instead to provide a therapeutic session that not only addresses tension, aches and pains, but feels wonderful to receive as well. I love it when my client is able to drift off into deep relaxation or even slumber, and at the end of the session marvel that the pain and tension they had an hour before has alleviated.

Deep Tissue Massage addresses a variety of orthopedic conditions including trigger points (see right), muscle tightness and inbalances, pain, and limited range of motion.
Despite the name of this modality, pressure is applied only to the depth perceived by the client to be therapeutic and clients generally report deep relaxation benefits.
Trigger points (small contraction "knots" frequently found in muscle tissue) are responsible for roughly 75% of physical pain and are involved, at least in part, in virtually every structural pain problem including but not limited to frozen shoulder, carpal tunnel syndrome, tennis elbow, low back pain, sports and repetitive strain injuries, and accident trauma.
The day before your appointment, we will also ask you to complete a Session Check-in (the link will be in your reminder email).
Please note that there may be sessions scheduled after yours and therefore we will not be able to extend your session time to accommodate late arrivals or form completions.
