Services
Columbia River Institute of Massage Therapy is designed around and dedicated to the continual advancement of the massage therapy profession through the superior training of future massage therapists.
Our education is evidence-based with interwoven artistic elements representing what we believe is the leading model of massage therapy.
The school is small by intention, focusing on the individuality of each future massage therapist.
Each instructor looks for the unique talents and skill set of the student and guides them to explore and deepen those areas of strength.
Classes meet Monday and Wednesday (March start) or Tuesday and Thursday (September start).
In the second half of the program, a third day is added for clinical hours.
That day is either Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday depending on which program the student is enrolled in.
In addition to school hours, each student is required to complete 100 hours of massage in our Massage Therapy Center.
These hours are completed in the second half of the program.
We do not accept any federal financial aid such as FAFSA.
We are contracted with several state agencies which may fund your education depending on qualifications.
Some of these agencies include Department of Vocational Rehabilitation, WorkSource, SkillSource, and Labor and Industries.
We do not contact them on your behalf and we cannot provide advice regarding your qualifications at these agencies.
If you are currently working with one of these agencies, you can ask them directly if you qualify for funding.
We frequently use electronic tablets in the clinic, which are provided by CRI.
A basic working knowledge of tablet usage is required.
It is not within the time constraints of this program to individually tutor students on the usage of electronics.
Students are required to access the internet for research and must be comfortable with this or willing to learn on their own time.
For students who live in remote areas without internet, planning ahead and working from locations with internet access is necessary.
All massages are offered by students.
Clients are required to participate in the learning process through constructive feedback and willingness to understand the different levels of proficiency throughout the program.
If you are interested in receiving massage at our school, please read through all the policies before booking an appointment.
