Services
Jill Suffin graduated from the Boulder School of Massage Therapy in April of 1982 and has been serving Grand County's muscular "kneads" since then.
When she first came to the Granby Valley, she worked at Devil's Thumb Ranch for 2 runners camps sponsored by Bonnie Bell, and then became the massage therapist for the CLazyU Guest Ranch for 26 summers.
For many years, Jill provided the massage therapy at the Arapaho Chiropractic Center with Dr. Betsy Jones, and then spent 3 years at the Bella Vita Wellness Spa.
The focus of massage therapy is to promote relaxation, improve blood circulation, relieve muscular tension, enhance body/mind connection, reduce stress, and to promote an overall sense of well being.
It is a treat for all of your senses.
The therapeutic massage work that Jill does uses a Swedish massage format and is "integrative" in that it combines many different modalities that she has learned over the course of the last 35+ years, including Trager work, deep tissue and neuromuscular therapy, massage cupping, and energy healing techniques.
Deep Tissue Massage and Neuromuscular Therapy (NMT) use deeper pressure and Trigger Point Therapy to work areas of acute and chronic pain.
It is often used to treat neck and back pain, rotator cuff issues, tendonitis, and areas recovering from injuries.
NMT targets specific muscle groups by working with the trigger points on the belly and tendons of the muscles for release of pressure on the nerves, helping to relieve pain and tension.
Conditions that require deep tissue massage often derive from work related posture problems, sports injuries, repetitive motion, or problems that have developed from ongoing stress and tension.
Massage cupping is an ancient modality that uses suction cups to create negative pressure for the release of fascia (connective tissue) and muscular tension.
It also helps to remove uid and toxins from the tissue, thus allowing greater blood ow to these areas, and can help loosen adhesions and scar tissue.
It is very eective and relaxing, and most people think it feels fantastic.
My focus tends to be more with the moving cups.
The use of cups on aected areas creates a localized pressure that acts as a vacuum to draw blood to the surface and facilitate healing.
The goal of Reiki therapy is to not only treat the symptoms of a condition, but heal it through the clearing and balancing of the body's energy pathways.
In combination with a client's conventional treatment program, Jill Suffin Body and Energy Works can apply Reiki techniques to treat a variety of conditions.
Many recipients of Reiki report a higher level of relaxation, reduced anxiety, improved self-esteem and a general sense of well-being with successive treatments.
Reiki is a very gentle but powerful form of energy healing.
