Bodywork, like the massage and specialized techniques we practice, can help your body, mind and spirit to relax and unwind. The deep calm that can be achieved in a session with a skillful therapist can help you to find your center, while attaining clarity and a fresh perspective on your life. The massage techniques we offer allow you the opportunity to love yourself more fully.

We offer personalized services that address pain and stress to help you create a more balanced, centered life. This work creates space to re-integrate lost fragments of yourself that have been isolated through injury, trauma and self-judgment. You can give yourself permission to open your heart to the feelings you have been hiding from and to release that which keeps you separate from the beautiful perfection that you are.

At A Healing Touch, we believe that through taking the time to heal ourselves, we can positively impact the entire world. This belief forms the foundation of our healing practice. When we receive regular bodywork and take the time to be still, we are more grounded and calm, better able to live a heart-centered life.

Fascia is connective tissue that gives shape and structure to our bodies. It wraps around each cell, vessel, muscle fiber, muscle bundle, bone and organ as one large sheath of tissue. Because the fascia connects throughout the body, an injury in one area can refer consequences to another part of the body. For MyoFascial Release and Signature Sessions, please bring a bathing suit (two-piece for women) or running shorts (not leggings) and a sports bra (for women) to change into prior to your session.

This life energy goes by many names: qi in China, ki in Japan, and prana in India. The ancient Hawaiians called it ti or ki. It has also been called orgone energy and elan vital, and science refers to it as biofield energy. When your life energy is low, it is more difficult to deal with stress; you may not sleep well, and you're more susceptible to illness.

Kennedy, postulated that up to 75% of common pain has a muscular component. She produced ground-breaking work in trigger point therapy. Trigger point work can be incorporated into a Signature Session with Jamilah or as a stand-alone service. An active trigger point is a tight place in the belly of a muscle that refers pain, numbness or other sensations to another place in the body.

Healthy lymph is a clear, watery-looking fluid that flows throughout vessels in the body into lymph nodes, which filter out the waste and debris from the system. When the lymph system is damaged or blocked up, excess fluid may accumulate in the body causing lymphedema. A full body Manual Lymph Drainage session is a 50-60 minute, treatment of the body's lymphatic system ($85-$105) or a 40 minute Lymph-Lift treatment of the head, neck and face ($75).

Jamilah includes taping in her Signature Sessions to provide pain relief, offer support to the body's structure and promote the movement of lymphatic fluid throughout affected tissues. She also offers a 15 minute taping session for $20. She learned these techniques through ROCKTAPE and uses their tape exclusively. Common areas for tape application are the low back or upper back. The tape can be left on for up to five days. It is 97% cotton and will stay on as you shower.

It is used by acupuncturists to treat constitutional imbalances but, at A Healing Touch, we use it as another tool for pain relief. Clients generally find it feels good as the cups lift and separate the layers of tissue, allowing for better circulation. If it is uncomfortable it is easy for us to adjust the amount of suction.

I will use my knowledge and observation skills to help determine different factors that are contributing to the symptoms you are experiencing. I will refer you to other professionals if I believe they can help you. It is up to you, though, to continue the work at home by addressing the trigger points and myofascial restrictions we identify through self-care.
