When most of us think of massage, we think of oil and bare skin, like Swedish or Deep Tissue. But, what many people don't realize, is massage can take on many forms, from relaxation massage to clinical treatments for specific conditions (clothes on and without the oil). All massage therapists are trained for relaxation massage, but clinical work takes a great deal more time and education (as in years, not months).

Where I fall on this scale, is the latter, taking more than a hundred hours of continuing education per year. So what does all this hard work mean for you? I treat the root cause of the problem, not just your symptoms, providing lasting relief from your pain and dysfunction.
Services
I perform hands-on body therapy that is highly effective in treating a wide variety of conditions, injuries, and even chronic pain.
I employ a wide range of techniques targeting specific deep connective tissue, thereby, normalizing tone in tight and painful muscles, joints, and other body structures.
Strains of these vital tissues can provoke a protective reflex spasm of the structure involved and any nearby somatic tissue (via reflex arc).
Once triggered, the reflex can persist and spread throughout the body.
Plantar fasciitis is a painful foot condition condition that involves tightening of the thick band of tissue on the bottom of the foot.
Often the first few steps of the morning are the worst.
In the past, typical interventions for plantar fasciitis pain involved stretching the plantar fascia, either by deep tissue massage, or the use of scraping tools.
Night splints were also employed to stretch the calf muscles and to prevent the fascia from shortening up during sleep.
Today, we realize the plantar fascia is the victim, not the villain, and is tight due to the influence of other structures in the body and treatment requires a different approach.
