We evaluate muscle tissues by palpating (feeling the muscle), examining posture traits, and listening to customer symptoms and reviewing the clinical intake form. A massage plan is developed and adjusted as the session progresses to ensure the best possible outcome. Additional symptoms/conditions that benefit from massage: sprains/strains, carpal tunnel syndrome (common with computer overuse), thoracic outlet syndrome (TOS), tennis elbow, shoulder pain, fibromyalgia, plantar fasciitis, arthritis, whiplash, or other chronic pain.

The long, fluid massage strokes promote increased blood flow allowing oxygenated blood to reach and nourish surrounding cells and tissues. The methodical cadence of this stroke sends signals to your brain allowing muscular tension to release. Often we use this technique alone for the entire session, or as a precursor/warm-up before receiving Deep Tissue or Sports massage techniques.

Deep Tissue massage is often recommended if you have chronic conditions such as postural deviations, low back pain, Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, Tennis Elbow, Thoracic Outlet Syndrome, Sciatica issues, Fibromyalgia, Restless Leg Syndrome and a variety of other tendinitis and muscle spasm related issues. Additionally, individuals who experience consistent pain and soreness in both large and small muscle groups have experienced a relief from discomfort.

read more › Trigger Point massage is a specifically targeted technique. Most people refer to trigger points as knots. A trigger point is commonly caused by repetitive stress injuries (over-use) and generally, develop over a period of time before causing discomfort. These areas can be tender and trigger a pain response that in turn can cause the muscle to contract which can create more pain (spasm-pain cycle). This discomfort can refer/radiate to other areas of the body. A common cause of neck pain is trigger points in the Rhomboids (shoulder blade area muscles), or Levators (muscles used to shrug shoulders).

This treatment involves massaging head, face, neck, and shoulder muscles that surround, support and attach to the jaw. Additionally, passive jaw stretching and intra-oral (inside mouth) massages to reach deep pterygoid, and surrounding mastication muscles.

The sound can move the brain to into the Theta brain wave frequencies that induce deep meditative and peaceful states, clarity of mind, and intuition. Theta is the border between the conscious and the subconscious world, REM sleep (dreams), hypnosis, lucid dreaming, and the barely conscious state just before sleeping and just after waking. If we accept that sound is vibration and we know that vibration touches every part of our physical being, then we understand that sound is heard not only through our ears but through every cell in our bodies.

read more › I felt David was very knowledgeable of how the body works and in explaining the cause of my pain, which I appreciated. He gave me exercise to do at home to further decrease the pain and for preventive measures. He offered a variety of healing techniques which made my experience that much more profound. I would highly recommend him. The suite is attractive without being ostentatious, the prices are reasonable, the staff is friendly and Stephanie was great. The neck and shoulder pain I had experienced for over a week is now gone.
